Gulf Shores Original Oyster House Reopens

After days of testing, cleaning and sanitation, the Gulf Shores Original Oyster House is back open for the Fourth of July weekend. The restaurant’s Coronavirus safeguards, which require staff members to be temperature checked prior to their shift and mandatory mask wearing, will stay in place to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The Original Oyster House has two locations: one in Gulf Shores at 701 Gulf Shores Parkway on the Original Oyster House Boardwalk and on the Mobile Causeway at 3733 Battleship Parkway, Spanish Fort, Ala. Both locations are open for dine-in service, offer spectacular waterfront views and have been celebrated as the area’s finest family restaurants for the past 37 years. In 2016, the Original Oyster House became the first restaurant in the state of Alabama to recycle oyster shells through the Alabama Coastal Foundation and one of the only restaurants to Oyster Garden or grow stocker oysters for reef restoration. In January of 2020, an estimated 10 million oyster shells to date have been recovered from participating Gulf Coast restaurants. For more information please visit www.originaloysterhouse.com/recycle.
