The Gulf Shores and Mobile Causeway Original Oyster House restaurants closed early for its annual Christmas party and to recognize its employees, the employee of the month winners and award from the pool of monthly winners, its two best staff members that exemplify the company’s mission and core values. Lucy Markel, hostess of the Gulf Shores’ location and Gaynell Ducote, cashier of the Mobile Causeway location won the 2015 Employee of the Year honor.
“Lucy makes every visitor welcome like they have just entered her home. Lucy role models Southern hospitality with genuine warmth and an inviting attitude. In the summer when there may be a wait and folks are hungry, Lucy’s good nature and quick customer service make customers know we are worth the wait,” stated Allen Hastings, general manager of Original Oyster House in Gulf Shores.
“Gaynell is a huge asset to our team. Not only is she respected by all managers and employees, Gaynell is extremely customer oriented and jumps in whenever anyone needs help, including on the phone. Her past three and a half years here have been greatly appreciated and valued because she lives the company mission and models our values,” explained Jim Harrison, general manager of the Original Oyster House on the Mobile Causeway.
